Nilgiri Flycatcher -Blue Bird From the Blue Mountains

Nilgiri Flycatcher (Eumyias albicaudatus), endemic to Nilgiri biosphere  is listed as near  threatened   because it occupies a moderately small, fragmented range, and is likely to be experiencing a continuing decline   owing to  human population increase.

This species is found  in the higher hills (mostly above 1200 m) of the Nilgiris,  Palnis, Anamalai ranges, the Brahmagiris,  Bababudan and Biligirrangan hills in southern India. Photograph taken at Lymond House-Serendipity Resorts, Ooty
