The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve is an International Biosphere Reserve in the Western Ghats, Nilgiri Hills range of South India. It has a rich and diverse flora and fauna . Some of the species here are endemic both in plants and animals. About 3,300 species of flowering plants are listed of which 132 are endemic to the reserve. Nilgiri Flora includes flowers which are very different from the flowers in the plains due to cooler climate. Many of them were brought from Europe by the British and are not native to India.
I am including snaps of some of the beautiful flora, taken by me on my various trips across the Nilgiri region.
